Available in two-tone black/brown. W: 1.5" L: 8" About our Regenerative Leather: In our efforts to utilize the entirety of the animal, we also cure our cattle hides to preserve them. At small abbatoirs, like we use, hides are most often disposed of, doing a disservice to the animal, and adding excess material to our landfills. With a little work and planning, we can turn what is otherwise a wasted material into beautifully crafted products. After our hide were cured, Pergamena Tannery, in New York, performed a vegetable tan process to turn our cured hides into leather. Vegetable tanning utilizes plant derivatives that provide natural tannins instead of a more common and chemically laden chromium tanning, which utilizes very harsh chemicals and is harmful to the environment and surrounding communities. We've partnered with Larkins in Marshall to create some one of a kind Kinloch Regenerative leather pieces like this bookmark. |
